Daily writing prompt
What brands do you associate with?

I am at the stage where comfort means more to me than sporting a certain style or brand; but in the name of that comfort, there is one thing I will always choose over any other…moccasins! Preferably Minnetonka.

My shoe collection is very limited; there are no spikey heels or anything like that… just a pair of moccasins for each season.

My winter boots are Muck Lucks by the Manitoba Nation. I have knee high boots for cooler weather and I have a couple of short shoes – ankle boots and loafers for when it is hot.

My soft sole shoes came in a kit that I put together. And they have been getting quite a workout. Very comfortable, they are great for walking in the grass, sidewalks and roads are ok, but rocks…not so much.

And there is one really big advantage in choosing to wear moccasins…made from leather, they last for a really long time! I don’t remember exactly what year I bought my moccasin boots, but they are at least 15 years old and still have plenty of wear in them. The winter boots are a good 10 years old. I had to finally replace my summer shoes a couple of years ago after at least 15 years of wear…and tear. 🙂

A $200 price tag for a pair of winter fur lined boots sounds like a lot…and it is; but when I think of how long they have lasted and are still in good shape, the purchase becomes very economical. At $200 a pair and 10 years of use; that’s $20 a year! Where else can you find a good pair of winter boots for waking in the snow for $20????

I don’t recall what I paid for my knee high boots but it was less than $100 and I am still wearing them over 15 years later!

Other than my choice for phones and computers, etc. I am not tied to a single brand…but I might if someone has a sponsor deal they want to push; but I will stand by my Minnetonka’s in a heartbeat!
