The Craftsman Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend in Thunder Valley for some Thursday night racing.

It’s the second race in round one of the playoffs for the drivers.  Thirty-seven teams brought trucks to Bristol Motor Speedway for 36 starting spots.  Parker Kligerman steps away from the microphone to attempt to race at Bristol.

Grant Enfinger, Daniel Hemric, and Kaden Honeycutt have all received at 10 minute penalty of practice after numerous teams have issues during the inspection process.

The drivers have been divided into two groups for a 25 minutes practice session.

NASCAR has sprayed some of the traction compound on parts of the track.

Conner Jones spins out on the track to bring out the caution flag.

Matt Crafton tops the leaderboard in group one practice.

Toni Breidinger topped the leaderboard in the number of laps run with 62.

Layne Riggs tops the leaderboard for group two practice.

Clay Greenfield is the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posted a time of 16.981 seconds around the half mile track.

At 73 years old, Norm Benning still enjoys racing and plans to keep at it until he can no longer get into the truck.

Several of the drivers are sporting patriot paint schemes in honour of the 24th anniversary of the tragedy on September 11, 2001.

With a time of 15.280 seconds, Jake Garcia puts his number 13 truck on the pole for his third pole of the season.  Corey Heim starts alongside on the front row.

Clay Greenfield failed to qualify for the race.

The race has been expanded to 250 laps from 200.  Stages one and two are 65 laps each with stage three lasting 120 laps to make up the total of 250 laps around the half mile track.  The drivers can run the first two stages on a single load of fuel.

The number one truck driven by Brent Crews will start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck.

Joey Logano and Kevn Harvick join Jamie Little in the broadcast booth for the race.

Jake Garcia brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Corey Heim alongside.  Corey Heim edges out for the lead but the caution flag comes out on lap two when Layne Riggs spins out after contact from Corey Day.

The crews get only two sets of sticker tires for the race.

Corey Heim brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap six with Jake Garcia alongside.  Heim jumps out in front for the lead.

Lap eight, Corey Heim leads the race with Kaden Honeycutt in second; Jake Garcia, Tyler Ankrum, and Ty Majeski round out the top five.

The first seven spots are playoff drivers.

Lap 12, leader Corey Heim is already encountering slower traffic.

Lap 15, Layne Riggs is already up to 27th place after restarting the race from the back of the field.

NASCAR has black flagged the 74 and 6 trucks for not making minimum; they have one attempt to make repairs and make minimum speed.  Caleb Costner is in the 74 truck and Norm Benning drives the number six truck.

Lap 22, Corey Heim has a lead of just two tenths of a second on Jake Garcia; Kaden Honeycutt, Chandler Smith, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five.  Layne Riggs is up to 23rd place.

Chandler Smith is reporting a possible electrical issue in his truck.

NASCAR has black flagged the 74 truck of Caleb Costner for not making minimum speed.  He has taken his truck to the garage.

Norm Benning has been charged with a commitment cone violation and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 36, driving amidst slower traffic, Jake Garcia has caught leader Corey Heim and is challenging for the lead.

Layne Riggs is now in the top 20 in 17th place.

Lap 44, there are 26 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 49, Corey Heim holds on to the lead of the race with Jake Garcia a third of a second back; Kaden Honeycutt, Tyler Ankrum, and ty Majeski round out the top five.  Layne Riggs is just outside the top 10 in 13th place.

Chandler Smith is on pit road with the crew changing the ECU hoping that will solve the problem.

With just nine laps remaining in stage one, Jake Garcia passes Corey Heim for the lead as they battle slower traffic.

Layne Riggs has entered the top 10.

Chandler Smith has returned to the track 12 laps down.

Jake Garcia wins stage one for his first ever stage win.

There are 25 trucks on the lead lap with three trucks out of the race.

Jake Garcia is off the pace and reports no power steering.  He brings the truck down pit road.

Lap 90, Tyler Ankrum spins out to brings out the caution flag.  There was contact from Kaden Honeycutt before the spin.

The top five are Corey Heim, Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski, Corey Day, and Andres Perez.

Grant Enfinger and Greg van Alst will have to restart the race from the back of the field after having too many crew members over the wall.

Just 10 laps remain in stage two, Corey Heim leads the race with Layne Riggs in second; Ty Majeski, Kaden Honeycutt, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

Just eight laps remain in stage two and the battle for the lead between Corey Heim and Layne Riggs continues.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Layne Riggs winning the race off of pit road.  Corey Heim had a slow stop and came out in fourth.

Leading 122 laps so far tonight, Corey Heim has led laps in every race so far this season.

After staying out on the track, Cole Butcher brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 141 with Layne Riggs alongside.  Layne Riggs jumps out for the lead with Tanner Gray in second.

The top five are Layne Riggs, Tanner Gray, Ty Majeski, Ben Rhodes, and Connor Mosack.  Corey Heim is back in seventh place.

NASCAR has posted the number 33 of Mason Maggio truck for too many crew over the wall and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 168, Layne Riggs leads the race with Ben Rhodes in second; Ty Majeski, tanner Gray, and Connor Mosack round out the top five.

Twenty-eight laps down, Jake Garcia has run the fastest lap of the race.

With 77 laps remaining in the race, Ben Rhodes begins the battle with Layne Riggs for the lead.

Corey Heim passes Connor Mosack for fifth.

NASCAR has posted Greg van Alst for not making minimum speed.  He has one chance to make repairs to the truck and make minimum speed or be out of the race.

Just 55 laps remaining in the race, Layne Riggs has a half a second lead on Ben Rhodes; Ty Majeski, Tanner Gray, and Corey Heim round out the top five.

Fifty to go!  Leaders encounter slower traffic; there are just 20 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 205, Layne Riggs has pulled out to a second and a half lead on Ben Rhodes; Ty Majeski, Tanner Gray, and Corey Heim round out the top five.

There are just 18 trucks on the lead lap with 39 laps to go in the race.

With 35 laps remaining in the race Layne Riggs has a near two second lead on Ben Rhodes with 17 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 220, Corey Heim finally gets around Tanner Gray for fourth.

With 24 laps to go, the top five are Layne Riggs, Ben Rhodes, Ty Majeski, Corey Heim, and Tanner Gray with 15 trucks on the lead lap.

Twenty to go! Layne Riggs has a two second lead on Ben Rhodes; ty Majeski, Corey Heim, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

With 15 to go, Corey Heim battles with Ty Majeski for third.
