The MTV Video Music Awards presented a star packed night as they presented the annual awards and honoured some of the biggest names in music.
LL Cool J hosted the gala event from the birthplace of MTV – New York City! In a historic moment, the MTV VMA’s comes to network television on CBS.
Doja Cat is joined by soprano saxophone virtuoso Kenny G gets the night of music started off with a performance.
Lenny Kravitz presents the first award of the night for Artist of the Year to Lady Gaga; beating out Beyonce and Taylor Swift!

Latin star J Balvin introduces Latin Icon Ricky Martin who performs a medley of his songs in English and Spanish including “La Vida Loca” and “La Cupa La Vida”. Jessica Simpson presented Martin with the inaugural MTV VMA Latin Icon Award. Martin said that he is addicted to the applause. He dedicated the award to his children. He has been making music for 40 years.

Paris Hilton presented the award for Song of the Year to Rose’ and Bruno Mars for “APT”.
LL Cool J introduced Busta Rymes who is the recipient of the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award. Donned in red, Busta gives a rousing performance; along with some friends.

Jack Osbourne and his family kicked off the tribute to Ozzy with a video. In a video clip, Ozzy said that he has lived an incredible life. The musical tribute kicks off with Yungblud and a performance of “Crazy Train”; followed by “Changes”. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry take the stage to join the tribute.
