NASCAR fans, like any sport, have their favourites and each week social media is filled with comments good and bad against the other drivers.  One of the drivers who frequently bashed no matter where he finishes a race is Bubba Wallace.

BUT, Bubba has a great deal in common with regular season champion William Byron…

…they are the only two fill time drivers who ranked in the top 10 in all five of the NASCAR Insights’ statistical categories (passing, defense, speed, restarts, pit crew) for 2025.

William Byron is the only driver who tops the list in more than one category – speed and restarts.  While he has won only two races, his 247 stage points and 13.9 average finishing spot helped to propel Byron and his number 24 Hendrick Motorsports car in the championship for the regular season.  He ranked second in passing, fifth in defense, and seventh in pit crew speed.

Bubba Wallace has earned his second trip to the playoffs after a win at the Brickyard 400.  Wallace’s 23XI pit crew was among the best all season; coming in second behind Kyle Larson but his seven DNF’s dropped him down to an average finish of 18.9.  He ranked third in restarts, seventh in passing, eighth in speed, and ninth in defense.

First in defense, reigning Cup Series champion Joey Logano finished the regular season ranked in fifth place.

Leading in the playoffs, Kyle Larson ranked in the top 10 in four of the five categories; his 14th place ranking in passing kept him off the list.
