Outside of the normal voting process for Emmy Award wins, Beyonce earned a special Emmy in a juried committee vote for her costuming during her halftime presentation at the Christmas NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. The process is determined by the committee with no list of nominees.
The award is her first Emmy.
Beyonce; along with a number of other people, were named the winners in the outstanding costumes for a variety, nonfiction or reality show category.
The award will be officially announced as a part of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards being presented next month.
In the nominee categories, Beyonce is nominated as the producer of the halftime show in Houston and for best direction of a variety special. Husband Jay-Z is nominated as an executive producer for the Super Bowl halftime show with Kendrick Lamar.
