This week the Cup Series travels to the corn field of Iowa for the Iowa Corn 350. Thirty-seven teams have brought cars to Iowa for the race around the 7/8ths mile track. Cody Ware is making his Cup Series debut.
The NBC Networks takes over broadcasting for the remainder of the season.
The drivers have been divided into two groups for a 25 minute practice session.
Kyle Busch got loose on entry and hit the wall hard coming out of turn one. He had reported the right rear wheel was chattering just before the crash. He was running second on the leaderboard at the time of the crash. He will have to start the race from the back of the field in a backup car.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Cody Ware who posted a time of 23.690 seconds around the near one mile track.
With a time of 23.004, Chase Briscoe has set a new track record.
With a time of 23.093 seconds, Chase Briscoe earns his sixth pole of the season. William Byron will start alongside Briscoe on the front row.

While the drivers have enough fuel to make it to the end of the race, there is some question about tire wear.
The caution flag comes out on lap 252 for a multi car crash involving Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, and Chase Briscoe. Bell and Reddick spin out after contact from Briscoe.
