Throughout the year the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame presents a number of programs at The Hall itself and other venues in the city of Cleveland.
On September 3 at the Cleveland Public Library, the Author Series will present an evening with iconic rockers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. The free event begins at 6pm at the Library’s Martin Luther King Jr. Campus. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Vice President of Education and Visitor Engagement Jason Hanley will moderate the event.
Jason Hanley spoke on the event saying, “the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is honored to partner with Cleveland Public Library for this one-of-a-kind evening with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. This event exemplifies how the powerful combination of music and storytelling can connect generations, amplify creativity, and spark imagination for families and young readers. We’re thrilled to co-host this meaningful experience and bring our community into dialogue with these iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees.”
Benatar and Giraldo have a new children’s book “My Grandma and Grandpa Rock” and will discuss the inspiration behind the book; along with highlights from their musical careers.
Senior Director of Outreach and Programming Services at Cleveland Public Library Erica Marks spoke on the event saying, “we’re excited to welcome Pat and Neil to our Martin Luther King Jr. Campus for a night of stories, creativity, and plenty of rock ‘n’ roll spirit. Only The People’s University and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame can bring this perfect harmony of reading and rock to life.”
The Cleveland Public Library is providing 300 signed copies of the book free on a first-come, first-served basis. Copies of “My Grandma and Grandpa Rock” will also be available for purchase.
