On July 5, Ozzy Osbourne will give his final performance in a day long gala event with his bandmates in Black Sabbath; along with performances by some of his fellow rockers and metal heads.

But the event at Villa Park in Birmingham, England is much more than “just some concert”, there is also a big auction that ends Sunday (July 6) with all the proceeds going to the charities Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice; along with the proceeds from the concert.

Tony Iommi played a Gibson SG Standard guitar; and in honour of the event, Gibson is donating two SG Standards which Iommi will sign and contribute to the auction.  Fans may check out the items up for auction and make bids at www.ozzyauction.co.uk.  Note: bids are listed in British pounds.

President and CEO of Gibson Cesar Gueikian spoke on the contribution saying, “it’s an honour to pay tribute to Tony Iommi and Black Sabbath, and it’s back to the beginning for me as well.  I started playing guitar because of Black Sabbath and Tony’s riffs. Tony is ‘THE RIFFLORD’ and the bands paying tribute to Black Sabbath on this epic day owe a great deal to them for paving the way for heavy metal. I am deeply honored to call Tony my friend, my adopted godfather, and to have had the chance to collaborate with him at Gibson and on the single ‘Deconstruction,’ co-written with Serj Tankian. I wouldn’t be at Gibson without that moment when I was 10 years old, when after discovering Black Sabbath, my life in music unfolded from that point onward. All of us at Gibson are proud to be playing a part in this epic last show and going back to where everything began for Black Sabbath!”

Gibson will also be on hand backstage at Villa Park for some interactive experiences and a photo booth with Indian Motorcycles.
