The Craftsman Truck and Cup Series paired up for a doubleheader weekend at the two-mile track at Michigan International Speedway.  Both races saw their first winners of the season.

In the Cup Series, Denny Hamlin won career race number  57 to become the winningest driver at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Despite running out of fuel on the last lap, William Byron holds on the points lead by 41 points over Kyle Larson.
