In less than a week, Broadway celebrates the biggest night in theatre with the annual Tony Awards.  And the top five shows on Broadway continue to set records. 

Last week the top five shows in the Million Dollar club all broke the $2 million mark with the George Clooney play “Good Night, and Good Luck” leading the way and topped the $4 million mark.  This is the final week for the play and on June 7 the play will be broadcast live on CNN.

The revival of “Othello” starring Denzel Washington and Kake Gyllenhaal followed with $3.55 million.  “Wicked”, “The Lion King”, and “Glengarry Glen Ross” rounded out the top five; all topping the $2 million mark.

Eighteen of the 40 shows running on Broadway made it into the Million Dollar Club last week.

In the 90 percent club, over half of the shows made the list with 24 and 10 of those had at least 100 percent audience capacity!
