While it is still a few races away, the initial field has been set for the 32 drivers that will be participating in the inaugural In-Series Challenge. He has not had a lot of luck this season as a team owner or driver, but Brad Keselowski finds himself the final driver eligible to participate in the Challenge.
However, Shane van Gisbergen, Riley Herbst, Cole Custer, and Cody Ware are among the full time drivers who did not make the field.
The seeding for The Challenge itself will be set by the best overall finish over the next three races – Michigan, Mexico City, and Pocono with The Challenge itself beginning at Atlanta Motor Speedway at the end of the month. The 32 driver field will face off against each other in 16 brackets. The winners in each bracket will move on to the next round where the field will be pared down to just eight drivers; then four, then two, and finally the winner will earn the $1 million prize.
