Amidst a tour of North America, award winning entertainer Billy Joel received a diagnosis of a brain disorder of a fluid buildup that resulted in issues with vision, hearing, and balance.

Joel revealed via social media that he has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus – adding that it can affect “a brain disorder that can affect brain-related abilities, including thinking and concentrating, memory, movement, and more.”

As a result, following his doctor’s advice, Joey has cancelled all of his tour dates in North America and the United Kingdom.

He is currently undergoing physical therapy and noting that giving a performance can exacerbate the issue, will not be performing until the matter has been resolved.

In a message to fans, Joel said,  “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”

The 76 year old Joel announced back in March that he had undergone some surgery and was receiving physical therapy but did not specify the nature of the surgery.

Tickets for all cancelled dates will be refunded.
