Following in the footsteps of Sara Barellis and Alicia Keys, Chaka Khan has created her own “jukebox biomusical” with the title taken from one of Khan’s own hit songs “I’m Every Woman”.
The show is set to premiere next year on London’s West End Peacock Theatre for a very limited engagement March 5-28.
Racky Plews will direct the production with choreography by Jade Hackett.
The March 2026 premiere is the culmination of a project that began back in 2023 with a workshop in London. Khan herself has been a part of the project.
Telling the story of Khan’s life through music, the show features her songs “I Feel for You’, “Tell Me Something Good”, “Ain’t Nobody”, “Sweet Thing”, “High Love”, “Through the Fire”, and the show’s title “I’m Every Woman”. The show will also feature musical “run-ins” with Joni Mitchell, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Robert Palmer.
Speaking on the show Khan says, “many of you known that my life has always influenced my music – but you may not know the full story. I’ve lived a rich, beautiful, and sometimes difficult life, and now those experiences will come alive on stage in “I’m Every Woman: The Musical”. It’s the greatest honor to have my journey and work celebrated in this way. London holds a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to share this moment with the fans who have sung, danced, and stood by me through it all. I’ve always wanted to inspire joy, truth, and love—and I know this musical will be filled with all of that and more. This is for you!”
Tickets go one sale beginning May 19 at 10am (British Standard Time) – 5amEDT.
