Last week at Talladega Superspeedway, the Cup Series drivers avoided “The Big One” but this week at Texas Motor Speedway, all three series ran a triple header weekend and all three races ended in overtimes and there were plenty of caution flags and even a few red one.
Joey Logano has not finished a race in the top 10 this season…until Texas when he earned his first win of the season and is now in the top 10 in points.
William Byron continues to lead the point standings with teammate Kyle Larson in second. They are also the only drivers with over 400 points and over 100 stage points.
And while the action on the track began early with Denny Hamlin blowing an engine and catching his car on fire; the biggest conversation out of Texas is the 100 year old Iwo Jima veteran who sang the National Anthem…and did an outstanding job of it!
