During the Cook Out 400 post race inspection process at Martinsville Speedway, it was discovered that the 43 Legacy Motor Club car driven by Erik Jones failed the weight test.
As a result, Jones has been disqualified from the race and placed in last place. He not only loses the points he earned for finishing in 24th place; but also the points he earned for finishing in the top 10 at the end of stage one.
In addition, the 43 car and the number 10 Kaulig Racing car driven by Ty Dillon are being taken to the NASCAR R&D center in Concord for further testing.
With the disqualification, Jones drops eight spots in the standings from 21st to 29th.
