On March 24, Richard Childress Racing announced that they have tapped RCR Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill for a series of Cup Series races with the first race next month at Darlington Raceway.

Over the past few years, Hill has competed in at least one Cup Series race.

Hill will driver the RCR number 33 car for the cup races joining Richard Childress’ grandson Austin Dillon and two time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch.

Hill spoke on driving in the Cup Series for RCR saying, “I’m excited to compete in the number 33 United Rentals Chevrolet again this year.  United Rentals has been a longtime supporter of my career and to continue that relationship once again at the top level of our sport is special. I’ve enjoyed my starts in the Cup Series so far and the goal is to keep learning every time I climb into the car. We have been strategic with adding new tracks to the lineup each season, which allows me to gain valuable experience. Racing for Richard at any level is an honor, but especially in the Cup Series. The focus remains on winning the Xfinity Series championship in November, but any laps in the Cup car are important for the future.”

Austin Hill will compete in Cup Series races at Darlington Raceway, the Chicago Street Race, the summer race at Dayton International Speedway, the fall race at Bristol Motor Speedway, and the fall race at Talladega Superspeedway.
