Who is the most confident person you know?
A sporting family, my brother used to tell his children, “it isn’t bragging if you can back it up.”
The confidence that that statement brought was a real fire starter in the boys.
Once went on to play football briefly as a professional before turning in his pads and helmet for a calculator and computer.
But the youngest one, has turned that confidence into a career.
A member of Team USA boxing team when Covid turned the world upside down. He is a Golden Gloves champion, and has gone on to become a professional boxer. Currently undefeated (14-0), instead of choosing a traditional nickname, Darius chose a goal…DFG – Destined for Greatness!
Ranked in the top 10 and a WBC champion; there is no doubt that Darius is confident in who he is and what he will do in the next few years.
While most of his bouts are scheduled for 10 rounds, he has gone the distance only twice; but when he trains…it’s as if he were going to fight a full 15 rounds.
He KNOWS when he steps into the ring that he has what it takes to defeat his opponent. He KNOWS that he has prepared as best he can to come out of the ring victorious.
But he is not cocky or impatient; he is willing to be patient and wait for the big fights as he works his way up the ladder of boxers.
A confident man, Darius is comfortable in his skin and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve the title of DFG!
