The Cup Series caps off a triple header weekend with the AmBetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Thirty-nine teams have brought cars to Atlanta for a 40 car field. The drivers will make their qualifying runs with no practice.
In two rounds of qualifying, all of the drivers will make a run with the top 10 drivers making a second round to set the pole.
The first driver out on the track to make a qualifying run on a chilly Atlanta morning is JJ Yeley who posted a time of 32.255 seconds around the 1.5 mile track.
The second car out, BJ McLeod was the first driver to break the 32 second mark with a time of 31.944 seconds.
Josh Berry posted a time of 30.999 seconds – the same time as the pole sitter last year.
With a time of 30.892 seconds, Joey Logano has run the fastest lap in the current configuration of Atlanta Motor Speedway. The track was reconfigured after the race in 2021.
The three Team Penske cars of Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Austin Cindric; along with the Wood Brothers 21 car driven by Josh Berry are the only drivers to break the 31 second mark.
Kyle Busch is the only non-Ford (Chevrolet) in the top 10.
The first driver on the track in the run for the pole is Chris Buescher who posted a time of 31.100 seconds.
With a time of 30.909 seconds Ryan Blaney puts his number 12 car on the pole with teammate Austin Cindric starting alongside on the front row.

Stage one is 60 laps, stage two and three are 100 laps each for a total of 260 laps around the 1.5 mile track.
Ryan Blaney brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with teammate Austin Cindric alongside. Ten of the top eleven cars are Fords; Kyle Busch is the only exception in sixth place. Ryan Blaney gets the lead initially but Austin Cindric edges out for the lead on the inside lane.

Lap eight, Austin Cindric continues to lead the race with Josh Berry in second; Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and Todd Gilliland round out the top five.
Back in the field, drivers are beginning to form a third line. The top 12 drivers are single file.
In 14th Carson Hocevar has advanced 12 spots since the start of the race.
The leaders have gotten double wide with Austin Cindric leading the race on lap 19.

The drivers are running laps a full second faster than their qualifying laps on Saturday morning.

Lap 46, after starting from the back of the field, Denny Hamlin has entered the top 20 in 16th.
Lap 48, the top five are Josh Berry, Austin Cindric, Joey Logano, Bubba Wallace, and William Byron.
Lap 50, Bubba Wallace drops down from the high line to battle with Josh Berry for the lead.

The first caution flag for an on track incident comes out on lap 82 when Ty Dillon spins out but keeps it off the wall with a flat tire.

The second caution flag comes out on lap 102 when Erik Jones spins out in traffic but fortunately did not hit anyone. Jones’ car is towed to the garage; but under new rules, he will be able to make repairs and return to the race.

Lap 115, Much of the field ran their fastest laps of the race. New rule for this year, the driver who run the fastest lap of the race will earn a point toward the championship standings.
Lap 118, the top five are Joey Logano, Austin Cindric, Alex Bowman, Josh Berry, and Bubba Wallace.
As the laps tick down, the drivers are getting more aggressive in their blocking and the three wide racing is picking up.

Lap 135, the caution flag comes out for debris on the track. Todd Gilliland comes down pit road for a tire change after leaving a tire carcass on the racing surface.
Some of the drivers come down pit road for service including tire changes to speed up the end of stage caution where they will take fuel only.

Kyle Busch is living up to his name with some Rowdy rants on the radio. An unhappy driver, Carson Hocevar appears to be one source of that unhappiness.
Lap 148, Joey Logano and Alex Bowman battle for the lead.
The caution flag comes out on lap 150 when Ricky Stenhouse makes contact with Chase Elliott and sends Elliott into the wall and spinning. Unable to stop, Brad Keselowski hits Chase Elliott. Corey LaJoie gets into the wall.
Corey LaJoie is being penalized two laps after having too many crew members over the wall while under the “crash clock”. The car goes to the garage but will still have to serve the two lap penalty.

The caution flag comes out on lap 205 for a crash when Chase Briscoe gets into the wall, and Chris Buescher, were all involved. Ty Gibbs gets into the wall.
With Michael McDowell back on the lead lap after multiple “lucky dogs”, Chase Elliott gets the “lucky dog” and is back on the lead lap. There are 27 cars on the lead lap.
