One half of the comedy duo Williams and Ree – The Indian and the White Guy” -, Terry Ree has died. Ree died December 21, 2024 at the age of 75. An official cause of death was not revealed.
For over 50 years Terry Ree and Bruce Williams took the stage armed only with themselves and their guitars and kept audiences in stitches the entire show.

Williams and Ree were such in tune with each other that there was no plan of a “set list”. One of the guys would open with a line and they were off for 90 minutes of adlibs that mixed music and comedy that was decidedly politically incorrect.
One of their favourite starts was “your people…” which would elicit a “well, your people…” While funny, the duo could also result in some “things to make you go hmmmm moments”.
The duo are members of the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
After meeting at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, the duo formed a comedy team and according to Ree, started using the moniker The Indian and the White Guy because no one could remember their names.
Over the course of their career, Williams and Ree shared the stage with Garth Brooks, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, and Florence Henderson; and on “Hee Haw”, “Laff TV”, and “Comedy Central”.
A member of the Sioux Nation, Terry Ree was born in 1949 in Huron, South Dakota but raised in Pierre.
He is survived by his wife Carol and children Michael and Rob.
