NASCAR Cup Series champion Kurt Busch had to cut his Cup Series career short after a crash at Pocono Speedway caused a serious concussion in 2022. Nearly two years after the crash, Busch is returning to racing in March to participate in the Race of Champions in Australia.
Speaking on the race, Busch said, “I would have loved to see another ultra-talented driver like Kyle Larson come to Race Of Champions as well, but he has a NASCAR race the same weekend. I said if I’m going all the way to Australia then it has to be with someone that can help me win it all for Team USA.”
The Race of Champions set for March 7 & 8 also includes nine time World Rally Champion and four time ROC winner Sebastian Loeb, four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel, seven-time World Rallycross champion Johan Kristofferson, and seven-time Supercars champion Whincup.
As a NASCAR driver, Busch ran 776 races with 34 wins including a Daytona 500. Along with his Cup championship, Busch has an IROC championship and has an All-Star race win.
