The Broadway boom continued during the New Year’s week with the top five shows topping $2 million with one show reaching $3 million and two dozen shows reaching at least 100 percent audience capacity.

While the numbers were down from the previous week with $45 million in box office receipts – down $10 million from Christmas week.

A total of 25 of the 33 shows currently running made it into the Million Dollar Club last week.

Coming down from its record setting $5 million, “Wicked” topped the list last week with a box office draw of $3.3 million.  The very popular and highly successful film production of “Wicked” became available for home rental last week.

After having to cancel several performances due to cast illness, “Gypsy” finally had a week with eight full performances and nearly brought in $2 million.
