With the Hollywood Foreign Press Association no longer a part of the awards ceremonies, the Golden Globe Awards returns for the 82nd gala event.
Nominees are seated around tables filled with food and flowing beverages as they eagerly anticipate hearing their names called as winners and cheering on their friends.
Comedian Nikki Glaser is the host for this year’s gala event.
The first award of the night was for Best Supporting Actor Performance by a Female in a Film and went to Zoe Saldana for her role in “Emilia Perez”. This is her first nomination and win.
The award for Best Female Actor in a Television Comedy or Musical Series went to Jean Smart for her role in “Hacks”.
The award for Best Supporting Male Actor in a Film went to Kieran Culkin for his role in “A Real Pain”.
The award for Best Male Actor in a TV Drama Series went to Hiroyuki Sanada for his role in “Shogun”. This is his first nomination and win.
The award for Best Supporting Female Actor in a TV Series went to Jessica Gunning for her role in “Baby Reindeer”. This is her first nomination and win. Gunning portrays someone who is Scottish on the show, but actually was born in England.
The award for Best Supporting Male Actor in a TV Series went to Tadanobu Asana for his role in “Shogun”. This is his first nomination and win.
The award for the Best Male Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series went to Jeremy Allen White for his role in “The Bear”.
The award for Best Screenplay for a Motion Picture went to Peter Straughan for “Conclave”. This is his first nomination and win.
The award for the Best Standup Comedy Performance went to Ali Wong.
The award for Best Foreign Language Film went to “Emilia Perez” from France. He gave his acceptance speech in French with a translator.
The award for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Made for Television Film went to Colin Farrell for his role in “The Penguin”.
He award for Best Female Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Made for Television Film went to Jodi Foster for her role in “True Detective: Night Country”.
The award for Best Female Actor in a Comedy or Musical Motion Picture went to Demi Moore for her role in “The Substance”. This is her first win.
The award for Best Male Actor in a Comedy or Musical Motion Picture went to Sebastian Stan for his role in “A Different Man”. This is his first win.
The award for Best Animated Motion Picture went to “Flow”. The film was made in Latvia.
The award for Best Direction of a Film went to Brady Corbet for “The Brutalist” – a film that was seven years in the making. This is his first nomination and win.
Sir Elton John and Brandi Carlile present the award for Best Film Score to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for “Challengers”.
The award for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture went to “El Mal” from “Emilia Perez”. This is the first nomination and win for the songwriters.
Vin Diesel presented the award for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement to “Wicked”.
Best Limited or Anthology Series or Made for TV Moive award went to “Baby Reindeer”.
The award for Best Musical or Comedy Television Series went to “Hacks”.
The award for Best Female Actor in a TV Drama Series went to Anna Sawai for her role in “Shogun”. This is her first nomination and win.

The 2025 Cecile B. DeMille Award winner Viola Davis presented the award for Best Female Actor in a Drama Motion Picture went to Brazilian Fernanda Torres for her role in “I’m Still Here”. This is her first nomination and win. She noted that she is the second Brazilian to earn a Golden Globe nomination; her mother was the first.
The award for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture Drama went to Adrian Brody for his role in “The Brutalist”. This is his first win.
