Broadway got a huge Christmas present last week bringing in over $5 million for Christmas week performances!!!

Several records were broken last week as Broadway had its best week since 2018.  More than 300,000 people attended a show during the week.  And despite the popularity of the new “Wicked” film, the Broadway musical is still packing the house; topping the list last week with over FIVE MILLION DOLLARS at the box office!

“Chicago”, “The Great Gatsby”, “The Outsiders”, and “SIX: The Musical” all set records last week. 

With Christmas landing in the middle of the week, shows had to juggle schedules; as a result, a few shows actually had nine performances last week instead of the normal eight – “& Juliet”, “Aladdin”, “MJ The Musical”, “The Book of Mormon”, “The Great Gatsby”, “The Lion King”, “and “Wicked”.

“The Hills of California” closed on December 22; leaving 33 productions currently running.

Twenty-six of the 33 shows running last week made it into the Million Dollar Club last week with 10 of them topping the two million dollar mark.
