The week before Christmas turned out to be very profitable for Broadway with four productions topping the two million dollar mark and one of them even topping three million! Thirty-four shows ran last week and brought in a total of over $44 million with over 300,000 people attending a show.
The new film production of “Wicked” is setting records all around the world. The Broadway production is also continuing its success and topped the list last week with a draw of over $3 million. “Elf” broke a house record with its draw of over $2 million; “The Lion King” and “Hamilton” also brought in over $2 million each last week. Coming in at $1.78 million, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” rounded out the top five as 24 of the 34 shows made it into the Million Dollar Club last week.
