For the residents of western New York, the affair was not fun and games – from censure by the Bar to a final breakup that has now become two large firms competing for air time on the television.
But Mike R. Breen and David Rafailedes have created a dark comedy – “Cellino v. Barnes” – that has become an Off Broadway hit. Originally scheduled to end its run in October, the play has been extended for a third time and will run into January.
Starring Eric William Morris and Noah Weisberg, the play follows Ross Cellin and Steve Barnes as they navigate their partnership and eventual breakup over a 20 year period.
Over the course of several years, playwrights Breen and Rafailedes have strived to uncover the truth of what really happened. Cellino has refused to be involved.
The show is set to end on January 26, 2025.
