The annual Chili Bowl Nationals is one of the first races to be held each year. Held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in early January, some 100 teams have already signed up for the event. While a vast majority of the drivers are from across the United States; there is a driver form as far away as Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. Several of the entries have yet to name a driver for the cars.
The upcoming Chili Bowl Nationals will celebrate 39 years of racing; five time winner of the Golden Driller trophy Slammin’ Sammy Swindell will be participating in his 35th Chili Bowl! The 69 year old Swindell will have a new teammate next year when Jordon Mallet makes his debut at the Chili Bowl.
Other notable drivers are Cup Series driver Alex Bowman who is fielding four cars next year – his most ever. Veteran Chili Bowl champions Jake Swanson, C.J. Leary, and Kevin Thomas Jr will be joined by newcomer Briggs Danner.
Mallet and Danner are two of two dozen drivers vying for the Rookie of the Year honours.
Currently, there are 19 Chili Bowl champion drivers entered into the race.
But with the race still over a month away, more drivers are expected to enter as officials dig through the mountain of paperwork. Over 300 hundred drivers have participated in the Chili Bowl Nationals over the past 10 years. In 2022, 381 drivers took part in the Chili Bowl.
The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals begin January 13 and run through January 18 in Tulsa.
