After three years the NASCAR Busch Light Clash moves from the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles will travel back across the country to North Carolina and Bowman Gray Stadium. The 0.25 mile track will host the annual exhibition race on February 2 and will be the first time a NASCAR event will be held on the track since 1971.
Over two months away and the race is already sold out! A few tickets remain for the Saturday Modified race.
But before the Cup Series drivers take to the track, February 1 will host a Modified Division race – the Madhouse Classic.
Project Lead for NASCAR Justin Swilling spoke on the event saying, “the sellout of The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium speaks volumes about the monumental nature of the event at this historic venue. We’re honoured to bring such an incredible race weekend to Winston-Salem that will provide an opportunity to place the starts of Bowman Gray Stadium’s Modified Division in the national spotlight.”
For the Modified Division race, it will be by invitation only and will be based on the 2024 standings and include a practice session, qualifying, and a 125 lap feature race.
Part of the festivities may include a Fan’s Challenge where the top four qualifiers drop to the back of the field but will have the opportunity to earn a bonus payout if they can race back to their original starting spot or higher.
In preparation for the race, Bowman Gray is upgrading the track with safer barriers and other upgrades.
