It has been a good week for a few of the biggest draws on Broadway with one musical falling just short of two and a half million and a second coming in just under the two million mark at the box office last week.
Since moving across the pond from the West End to Broadway, “Sunset Boulevard” has continually increased its draw at the box office and last week it had the best week yet, bringing in $1.9 million.
“Wicked” hits the movie theaters this weekend, but fans are still flocking to the musical that spawned the Hollywood film. “Wicked” topped the box office last week with a draw of $2.45 million.
“The Lion King”, “Hamilton”, and “The Outsiders” filled out the top five last week as the 37 shows currently running brought in $35 million. Fourteen shows made it into the Million Dollar club last week.
“Death Becomes Her” and though falling below the one million mark, “Maybe Happy Ending” each saw significant increases last week.
