When NASCAR got its start, there was only one racing series – what is known today as The Cup Series; but over the years a lower level car series (Xfinity) and a Truck Series (Craftsman Truck Series) were added.

Race car drivers love to race and will hop behind the wheel every chance they get and that includes driving multiple times in a single weekend, taking advantage of the other racing series.  After a time, NASCAR began to limit the number of races a Cup Series driver could run in the other races.

Richard Petty has long been known as The King with the most Cup Series wins with 200; but who sits at the top of the list when all of the NASCAR wins are combined?

Herb Thomas and Jeff Burton are tied in 25th with 48 wins each.  Thomas earned all 48 of his in the Cup Series; while Burton splits his wins with 21 Cup Series and 27 Xfinity Series.

Twenty-second place is shared by three drivers – Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.  Johnson and          Jarrett earned all of their wins while driving a Cup Series car; but Dale Jr has 26 Cup Series wins and 24 Xfinity Series wins.

In 21st place, Lee Petty earned all 54 of his wins in the Cup Series.

Rusty Wallace and Ron Hornaday Jr share 19th with 55 wins; all of Wallace’s wins were earned in the Cup Series, but Hornaday won only four races in the Xfinity Seres and 51 in the Truck Series along with multiple championships.

Eighteenth place belongs to Greg Biffle who is the first driver to win across all three racing series with 19 Cup Series wins, 20 Xfinity Series wins, and 17 Truck Series wins.

Seventeenth place belongs to Smoke with 62 wins; Tony Stewart also won in all three series with 49 Cup Series wins, eleven Xfinity Series wins, and two Truck Series wins.  Since retiring from NASCAR, Smoke has also added a few NHRA Drag race wins to his trophy case.

Matt Kenseth and the 2024 Cup Series champion Joey Logano tie for 15th with 68 wins.  Kenseth has 39 Cup Series wins and 29 Xfinity Series wins.  Logano has 36 Cup Series wins, 30 Xfinity Series wins, and just two Truck Series wins.

Holding down 14th is Mr. Backflip Carl Edwards who has earned a total of 72 wins across all three series with 28 Cup, 38 Xfinity, and six Truck Series wins.

Not counting his wins as a team owner, Denny Hamlin is in 13th with 74 wins with 54 Cup Series, 18 Xfinity, and two Truck Series wins.

Also a team owner, Brad Keselowski has earned 76 total wins with 36 Cup Series, 39 Xfinity, and just one Truck Series win.

Just outside the top 10 in eleventh is Cale Yarborough with 83 total wins – all in the Cup Series.

The top 10 opens with seven time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson who has 84 wins with all but one of them in the Cup Series and a single win in the Xfinity Series.

In the top five in Cup Series wins, Bobby Allison has a total of 87 wins when his two Xfinity Series wins are added to the mix.

At one time eighth place driver Mark Martin held the record for Xfinity Series wins with 49;  he also has 40 cup Series and seven Truck Series wins for a total of 96 NASCAR wins.

There is a tie at number six between two friends – Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Sr – with 97.  Waltrip has 84 Cup Series and 13 Xfinity Series wins.  Earnhardt has 76 Cup Series and 21 Xfinity Series wins.

Holding down fifth place, Jeff Gordon has 98 total  NASCAR wins with 93 Cup Series wins and five Xfinity Series wins.

The first driver to break the 100 wins mark is David Pearson who has a total of 106 wins with just one Xfinity Series win and 105 Cup Series wins.

After earning his first Cup Series win in 2001 just two weeks after the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr, Kevin Harvick went on to rack up a total of 121 wins – 60 Cup, 47 Xfinity, and 14 Truck Series wins.

Holding down the top spot of the Cup Series win total with 200, Richard Petty comes in at second place in the overall NASCAR wins – a number many thought would never be broken.

And the number one driver in NASCAR wins is none other than Rowdy himself – Kyle Busch!  The two Cup Series champion has 63 wins in that series; but it is his feats in the Xfinity and Truck Series that mark an impressive event that will be hard to top.  Busch leads the Craftsman Truck Series with 66 wins and has a walloping 102 Xfinity Series wins!

Many of the drivers on the list are no longer active drivers and some are no longer with us; but for Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, occasional driver Jimmie Johnson, and Kyle Busch they are still active and have a chance to increase their numbers and move up on the list…or in the case of Kyle Busch, increase it further.
