The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is about to embark on its 26th annual tour around Canada with some stops in New York.  The annual event is a fund raising event for food and money for local food banks.

The 2024 tour will make seven stops in New York around the Capital District (Albany) and Northern New York on November 25 & 26.

The train features a festive light display and live music.

Once the train comes to a stop, the stage lowers and the music begins.  This year’s entertainment is the Canadian Country band the James Barker Band and Clerel.  The artists will perform traditional holiday songs, modern holiday tunes, and some original music.

The events are free and open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to bring a “heart-healthy” food donation or make a monetary contribution.  Local food banks at each stop will be the beneficiary of the food donations.

Since it began in 1999, the Holiday Trains has brought in over 5.3 million pounds of food and over $23 million to local food banks.
