Ask any musician and they will tell you that the secret to a long life is…surprise…making music.

Country music legend Willie Nelson proves that sentiment.

Now 91, Nelson has just released his 76th solo album and his second album this year!

“Last Leaf on the Tree” is also Nelson’s overall 153rd album!

When asked how many more albums he has in him; a laughing Nelson said, “I don’t know. I hope there’s a few more.” Maybe he’ll hit 200? “Why not!”

With such a long and prolific career, it is hard to believe that Nelson could add to his list of firsts, but “Last Leaf on the Tree” is the first album that was produced solely by his son Micah.  The 13 song album is a mix of original music and cover tunes including music from Nina Simone, Neil Young, Tom Waits, the Flaming Lips, and Beck.

Speaking on his son Micah, Nelson said, “he’s a real artist. He picked all the songs.”
