The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team will not play in the 2025 Indoor Football League season after a contract issues…or rather a lack of one.

The Storm has spent the past several seasons playing in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center; but the Center has declined to offer The Storm a contract for next season.

The Storm sought an alternative location but was unable to find a suitable venue in time for the upcoming season set to begin early next year.

The Storm owner and president Amber Garry spoke on the issue saying, “we are disappointed by the situation and saddened to step away, even temporarily, from our incredible fans and community.  Our commitment to Storm Nation remains unwavering, and we look forward to returning stronger than ever for the 2026 season.”

In the meantime, Storm ownership will search for a new “Storm Shelter”,

IFL Commissioner and former Storm owner Todd Tryon also spoke on the issue saying, “it’s been very frustrating to have watched this play out the way it has the past few years.  There is too much support and too much history for this team to not be offer a lease.  My belief is a solution will be found and we can all witness the comeback story of the Sioux Falls Storm in 2026.

“The Sioux Falls Storm extends their gratitude to fans, partners, and sponsors for their steadfast support during this transition.”A
