On Sunday during the South Point 400 in Las Vegas, Erik Jones lost a wheel on the racing surface.  A violation of the NASCAR rule book Sections 8.8.10.4.A & C –  “loss or separation of an improperly installed tire(s)/wheel(s) from the vehicle”, Jones was held for two laps during the race and as a part of the penalty report, tire changer Johnb Rosselli and jackman Kellen Mills have both been suspended for the next two races.

If Jones had lost the tire while still on pit road, he would have had to serve a passthrough penalty and there would have been no further punishments.
