There is an old expression that says, “everything old is new again” and when it comes to NASCAR and racing, drivers often return to the past to revive old paint schemes.

But there are few paint schemes that are more iconic than the number eight car in Budweiser red with Dale Earnhardt Jr behind the wheel.

Well, Budweiser and Jr are reviving the iconic car in a limited series of Late Model Stock Car races beginning November 23, 2024 at the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway.

The number eight on the car will also be a historic return to the stylized eight Jr used from 1999 to 2007.

Dale Jr spoke on the new partnership saying “it is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser and the number eight.  Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We’ve always supported each other over the years. It’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”

Anheuser-Busch has been a part of NASCAR for over 40 years.

Vice-President of Partnerships at Anheuser-Busch Matt Davis spoke on the partnership saying, “there are names that when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser, and Earnhardt.  This return to the racetrack alongside Dale with the Bud King of Beers paint scheme is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch’s long and storied sports history.”

Budweiser spent nine years sponsoring Dale Jr in the Cup Series, they spent 13 years sponsoring Kevin Harvick, and are currently the sponsor for the Trackhouse Racing number one car driven by Ross Chastain.
