After the conclusion of the overtime finish in the United Rentals 250, it was discovered in the post race inspection that the JR Motorsports number one car driven by Sam Mayer failed the ride height requirements.
As a result of the infraction, Mayer has been disqualified from the race. Mayer finished the race in 16th place but after the disqualification, he has moved to last place in 38th place and will receive only one point for the race.
Mayer is one of the 12 playoff drivers competing for the championship.
When the race at Talladega Superspeedway, Sam Mayer was in fourth place in the standings; with the disqualification, Mayer has dropped seven spots and is now in eleventh place below the cut line and in danger of being eliminated next week at The Roval in Charlotte Motor Speedway.
