This November the Latin Grammys will celebrate their 25th anniversary.  After holding the Awards gala in Spain last year, the Latin Grammys returns to the U.S. to celebrate in Miami on November 14.

On September 17, the Latin Recording Academy announced the nominees for this year’s awards.    isNew this year is a new Electronic Music Field with the Best Latin Electronic Music Performance and the new Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album.  There are a total of 58 categories in the Latin Grammy Awards this year.

In order to be eligible for the Latin Grammys, a song’s lyrics must be at least 60 percent in Spanish, Portuguese, or the native regional dialect.

The Grammys and Latin Grammys are industry voted awards with Academy members casting the votes.

Latin Recording Academy President Manuel Abud spoke on the Academy and awards saying, “as we approach the 25th edition of the Latin Grammys, our awards process is more robust than ever, with our membership evaluating over 23,000 entries this year.  The Latin Grammys have grown in an amazing way to become a fundamental platform for music and culture.  We are proud to share this year’s nominees, an international and diverse group of today’s Latin music. Ahead of the 2024 Latin Grammys, the Latin Recording Academy will host the official Latin Grammy Week 2024, which includes multiple events throughout Miami-Dade County.  Official events include the 2024 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala, which this year honors 18-time Latin Grammy winner and two-time Grammy winner Carlos Vives; the Best New Artist Showcase featuring the nominees for the 2024 Latin Grammys and the 2024 Special Awards Presentation.
