The flame has been extinguished and the torch passed on as the 2024 Paralympics in Paris have come to an end.  The final medal count includes 85 countries with their athletes earning medals.  The People’s Republic of China dominated the medal count from the very beginning and ended with 220 total medals with 94 of them gold.

Great Britain and the United States each won over 100 medals including a wheelchair basketball team that won the gold medal for the third time in a row – a Paralympic first.

The Olympics and Paralympics return in 2026 with the winter events and in 2028 for the summer event.
