As the month rolls over to September, the athletes at the Paralympic Games in Paris continue to rack up the medal count.  There are far more medals awarded per sport than in the Olympics because the Paralympic Games have numerous classes in some of the sports to help ensure a fair chance for all of the participants.

A total of 65 countries have now earned medals in the Paralympic Games with the People’s Republic of China leading the way with 33 gold medals and a total of 71 medals.  Great Britain comes in second with the United States Ukraine, and Brazil tying for third with 27.
