The regular season is over and it’s time for the playoffs to begin…

The wild ride that was the Cook Out Southern 500 was the deciding race to determine who would move on to the playoffs and would who be left out.

Martin Truex Jr saw a 58 point cushion erased in just the second lap of the race with a wreck but survived to move on to the playoffs when he had secured enough points by the end of the second stage.

Bubba Wallace and Chris Buescher spent most of the night trying to out position each other in order to be the last driver in the playoffs; but in the end a late race crash and a come from nowhere !winner sealed the deal and left both drivers out of the 16 driver playoff.

Driving sick all night, Tyler Reddick was named the regular season champion, beating out Kyle Larson by just ONE point!

The playoff point standings after regular season:
Kyle Larson – 2,040
Christopher Bell – 2,032
