After the opening ceremonies on August 28 that featured paralympic athletes from all over the world, the real competition began on Aug 29.
A total of 32 countries have won medals on the first full day of competition with The People’ Republic of China leading the gold medal count with four and Italy leading the overall count with nine. The United States currently has three silver medals.
