As the 2024 playoffs begin in NASCAR, the schedule for 2025 season is released with the return of old tracks and the addition of a couple of new tracks. And for the first time in the modern era, NASCAR will leave the confines of the United States for a race south of the border in Mexico.
Along with the new tracks, NASCAR will premiere new broadcast partners in 2025 with the CW Network taking over the Xfinity Series races TNT/Max and Amazon Prime taking over some of the Cup Series races.
Also new for 2025 is the In-series five race tournament.
This year instead of releasing each Series separately, NASCAR has released all three Series together.
The season begins in February with the annual Busch Light Clash and this time NASCAR returns to a classic short track when it heads to Bowman Gray Stadium. It has been over 50 years since NASCAR held a race at Bowman Gray.
The official season kicks off in Daytona Valentine’s Day weekend with all three Series running on the historic high banks of Daytona International Speedway.
Next year, the Homestead-Miami moves out of the playoffs and will race in late March.
A major change for 2025 is the road course race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. NASCAR executive vice president, chief venue and racing innovation officer Ben Kennedy spoke on the addition saying, “it’s no secret we’ve been bullish about growing NASCAR beyond our borders, and the 2025 schedule is an important and thrilling first milestone in that journey. In addition to racing in Mexico, we’ve been able to bring back more historic and fan-favorite venues for the first time in decades across our national series. Not only will this combination of venues maintain the high levels of excitement and anticipation for NASCAR racing, but it also delivers one of the most diverse and challenging schedules anywhere in motorsports.”
The Easter break also returns next year for the Cup Series after having run races on the holy Sunday over the past few years. The Truck and Xfinity Series will return to Rockingham on that weekend.
Watkins Glen returns to its mid August slot with the regular season ending at Daytona and Darlington kicking off the playoffs for the Cup Series. And New Hampshire makes a return to the playoffs after an eight year absence.
The season ends for all three Series with a race in the desert at Phoenix Raceway.
