I grew up in hurricane country. I now live in snow country. Fortunately, I have never had to evacuate in either situation.
But, the things that made me realize that being prepared…at least somewhat…was the Covid pandemic.
At first I would go to the store and stock up on food goods; then places like Wally World (Walmart) started delivering! Glory Be! No more having to get out in the masses with people who had no clue how dangerous things really were.
The horrors of the Covid pandemic and subsequent lockdowns is behind us now; but I continue to make sure that I have a supply of the things I need…at least two or three…in case of any kind of emergency. At any given time, I can go at least two weeks without having to worry about food if I have to. It is summer now, so I have gotten a little lax on the backup supplies; but come time for winter, I will be well stocked in case there is another killer snowstorm!
