The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris have reached the halfway point with plenty of action all around the country. As of today over a quarter of the 205 countries participating in the Games have earned medals; but one item that is not listed are the athletes participating under the neutral Olympic flag. There are 17 athletes from Belarus and 15 athletes from Russia who are participating as Individual Neutral Athletes. Thus far Ivan Litvinovich and Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya from Belarus have each won a medal but will not have their names added to the winner’s table.
The People’s Republic of China continue to hold the lead in the gold medal count with 16; but the United States has closed the gap and is now only two back with 14. The U.S. has also increased their number of total medals to 61!
Of the 62 countries that have earned medals, 12 of them have earned at least 10.
