A part of the All Star Game festivities, the Home Run Derby can sometimes be more exciting than the game itself.  Eight players compete to see who can hit the most balls into the stands…and sometimes out of them; along with who can get it out the farthest.

Set to go on Monday night, the day before the game, four players from each league will battle it out for the batting trophy from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

New York Mets’ Pete Alonso is making his fifth appearance in the Home Run Derby!  He is a two time HRD winner in 2019 and 2021.

Joining him are:
Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles

Alec Bohn of the Philadelphia Phillies

Bobby Witt Jr of the Kansas City Royals

Marcell Ozuma of the Atlanta Braves

Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Guardians

Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers

Teoscar Hernandez of the Los Angeles Dodgers
