On July 16 Major League Baseball will hold their annual All Star Game.  This year the home of the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas is the sight of the game.  But none of the 2023 World Series winners will be a part of the 2024 All Star Game.

After the fan vote, Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani has been voted into the game for the fourth straight year as the designated hitter.  New York Yankees star Aaron Judge is the only other ball player to make a return trip to the All Star Game from last year.  This is the first time in All Star Game voting history that just one player from each League has made a return trip to the game.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper has been chosen to be a part of the game but it is unknown whether or not he will play due to a leg injury.

Just six of the 30 teams are sending more than one player to Texas for the game.  Philadelphia has three players selected to go to the All Star Game.  A total of 10 teams will have players represented on the field at the start of the game; eight of those players are first time All Stars.

Along with Harper, Fernando Tatis is also sidelined with an injury and may not be able to play.

The remainder of the lineup and pitchers will be revealed on Sunday.  The coaches themselves select the pitchers for the game.
