The Cup Series christened a new track to the racing circuit on Sunday night with the Iowa Corn 350 from Iowa Speedway.  Once tickets went on sale for the double header weekend, they sold out the grandstands and the camping lot in just one day!

When it comes to winning on a new surface, Joey Logano has been the leader; but on Sunday night, it was Logano’s Team Penske teammate Ryan Blaney who took the checkered flag while some 80 friends and family cheered him on.  Blaney moves up five spots in the standings with the win.

Kyle Larson showed fans just how quickly things can turn on a driver when he finished near the bottom of the list at Iowa after winning the race at Sonoma the previous week.  With his poor finish, Kyle Larson drops to second in the standings with Chase Elliott taking the points lead.

It was another bad week for Kyle Busch when mechanical issues put an early end to his night.  Busch has won at least one race every year he has been in the Cup Series; he is more concerned about keeping that streak going than he is making the playoffs.  There are just nine races remaining in the regular season, but time is beginning to run short for Kyle Busch to extend his winning streak to 20 years.

Kyle Larson holds the lead in the playoff standings with his three wins.
