It may not be the longest time between two album releases, but it has to be on the list…

The iconic band Jesus Lizard will be releasing a new album ”Rack” on September 13.  It is their first release since the 1998 release “Blue”.

The first single “Hide & Seek” is available now; a song Jesus Lizard’s David You says is “a perky ditty about a witch who can’t behave, and it’s got nearly as many hooks as a Mike Tyson fight.”

Yow, Duane Denison, Mac McNeilly, and David William Sims have not performed together as a band since 2009, but have remained friends and at times touring mates.  The band has planned some tour dates over the next several months.

Speaking on the new album, the band said, “there are definitely some references to the past, but it’s more as a point of departure: we don’t stay there.”
