Joel is right Honesty is a lonely word and hardly ever spoken.
Society today is filled with promises that will never be kept, lies, and deceptions.
To me the most important trait in any relationship is honesty!
There needs to be trust in friendship; but without honesty, how can there be trust???
I frequently refer to people I know (on and off line) as friends – it’s the American thing to do – but truth be told, there are very few of them that actually qualify for the word in its truest sense.
I am fed up with the promises that never happen and the deceit that comes with them. It is a very simple matter…if you aren’t going to do what you say; then don’t say it! Be honest…I don’t have time; I really would rather not…
Growing up, two things were drilled into our heads more than any other – don’t lie and respect other people and their property. That meant mom’s 10 pound purse with everything but the kitchen sink was OFF LIMITS! When she asked a question, she expected honesty – tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth – something politicians seemed to have never learned.
