Recently,the business magazine “Forbes” released their list of the 400 richest people in the world and Super Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was not on the list; but no matter how you write it upon either side of “The Pond”, Sir Paul joins the list of the world’s billionaires.

According to the “Sunday Times Rich List”, Sir Paul becomes the United Kingdom’s first musical billionaire worth one billion poinds ($1.27 billion).

It is estimated that around 50 million pounds of the fortune belongs to wife Nancy Shevell, who inherited the money from her father Mike’s trucking empire.

But, Sir Paul has done all right for himself in the past year, increasing his worth via his “Get Back” tour, the increasing value of his musical catalog, the release of the “final Beatles” single “Now and Then” with a little help from AI, and the recent release of Beyonce’s “country” music album “Cowboy Carter” which includes the McCartney song “Blackbird”.

Now 81, Sir Paul has kept himself very busy since the days of The Beatles with his solo career, his band Wings, and his numerous compositions.

While Sir Paul was nowhere near the top of the list at 165th, he out ranks the most powerful man in the UK – King Charles III, whose wealth is estimated at 610 million pounds.  However, the figure does not include an items listed under trust like the crown jewels; but does include Sandringham in England and Balmoral in Scotland.

Fellow musical knight Sir Elton John came in a 470 million pounds.

The Hinduja family topped the list at 37 billion pounds for their banking, media, and entertainment empire.
