In a highly anticipated event, NASCAR issued two suspensions to the Hendrick Motorsports number five team after the right rear tire dislodged itself from Kyle Larson’s car during the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway last Sunday. During the race, Larson was penalized two laps during the race – which he made up via the “lucky dog” to finish the race on the lead lap.
Rear tire changer Calvin Teague and jackman Brandon Johnson have been suspended for the next two point races – Talladega and Dover – as a result of the infraction.
NASCAR has suspended Nicholas Covey indefinitely due to a violation of NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy. Covey most recently was a member of the Richard Childress Racing number three team whose car is driven by Austin Dillon.

Tire carrier Zach Yager for the RFK Racing number 17 car driven by Chris Buescher
Tire carrier Jake Holmes for the Joe Gibbs Racing number 20 car driven by Christopher Bell
Jackman Doug Warrick for the Richard Childress Racing number 33 car.
Each crew member has been issued a one race suspension.
Xfinity Series fueler Brandon Harder for the number nine JR Motorsports car driven by Brandon Jones was also issued a one race suspension for violation of the protective clothing and equipment policy.
Also in the Xfinity Series crew chief Phillip Bell for the JR Motorsports number nine car and crew chief Patrick Donahue for the Big Machine Racing number 48 car were each fined $5,000 for a single lug nut being improperly secured during the post race inspection.
Crew chief Chris Carrier for the Craftsman Truck Series Henderson Motorsports number 75 truck driven by Stefan Parsons was fine $2,500 for a single lug nut improperly secured during post race inspection.
